our children to make them wiser, smarter and successful in chosen walk of life, the key to such shaping of the character is in understanding the values and picking them up early in budding age. This book is an attempt towards the same.”

‘Sip of the Sea’ is a book aimed at identifying ‘jewels of thought’ known to Indians over centuries. All of us have had our upbringing dosed on the stories picked up from this treasure; at times from parents, grandparents or teachers.
We cherish learning from such stories and implement them in practice to the best of our efforts, we obviously as parents today want to pass on this treasure to the new generation i.e. our children to make them wiser, smarter and successful in chosen walk-of-life, the key to such shaping of the character is in understanding the values and picking them up early in budding age. This book is an attempt towards the same.
There is a sea of such stories in Indian culture and we want children to sip it one after the other, these stories build the character, aim of this book is to make this realization dawn on the new generation.
The character, ‘Krishna’ in the ‘Sip of the Sea’ is made out to represent the very inquisitive mind with which children observe and learn. We strongly believe that the children will start relating themselves to the character ‘Krishna’ as they read through a few stories here. The contextualization with the surrounding where these stories unfold; is kept original to a large extent including the names of the villages, areas, people, animals, things etc. The attempt made by Sarang Khaty, the author, to keep the originality of the context intact; highlights the forbearance of values in otherwise liberal globalized world of fantasies.
I am sure that children and parents will love reading this book as I did.
